FAQ

We at Safe Guard 24/7 Inc. stay on top of the latest developments and products available to the pest control industry. This allows us to make the most environmentally friendly choice and provide the best solution to solve your issue.

Prevention is always an important step in avoiding pest problems. This may include screening or sealing entry points to removing available food sources.

Many pests reproduce quickly making it essential not to ignore their presence.

Q. What is considered a pest?
A. According to the Ontario Ministry of the Environment "A pest is a harmful, noxious or troublesome organism". They can compete with humans or animals for food or water, causing injury, spread diseases, damage plants or structures. Did you know that rats consume or contaminate 1/3 of the world’s food supply every year?

Q. Do you need a licence in order to apply pesticides?
A. Yes, we are licenced through the Ministry of the Environment. We currently have Structural and Termite Licenced staff. The technician will be identified by his/her name tag providing their portrait and licence number.

Q. What is a pesticide?
A. A pesticide is anything that is intended to prevent, destroy, repel, attract or manage a pest. Every precaution is taken to protect the safety of the customer and the technician.

Q. Does Safe Guard 24/7 Inc. warn the customer when pesticides will be used and if the area needs to be vacated after treatment?
Yes, communication regarding the re-entry time into a building or premises is always provided to the customer. A service order will be left with the client which will include all the details of the call including the name and registration number of any product used. A sticker will be adhered to the entry door identifying the safe re-entry time if appropriate to the situation.

Q. What if the pest is still found after the treatment? Should I call back?
A. Always, feel free to call our office if you have a question. Some treatments can take up to 10 days for all of the pests to be affected. If after 2 weeks, pest evidence is still seen then we will return free of charge to investigate and re-treat if necessary. We usually return to site a second time according to our treatment program anyway.

Q. Why are bed bugs so hard to get rid of?
A. Yes, bed bugs can be very hard to get rid of. Some companies will not take their time to perform the thorough treatment required to kill all of the bed bugs and their eggs. How well the homeowner follows the preparation sheet (provided) is also very important to eliminating bed bugs. Refer to the Bed Bug section on the Home Page for more information.
